Mr. Ramoji Rao

Shri Ramoji Rao has pioneered a number of developments in the State-indeed in the country. He presides over a multifarious group which include print and electronic media, film production, publishing, hospitality and agro-processing industries.

Shri Ramoji Rao blazed a trail in the print medium when he started ‘Eenadu’ daily with zonal editions in districts. Today it has the largest number of editions. It is one of the largest circulated dailies of India known for its fearless approach. He also publishes a number of various specialised magazines. His TV channel ‘ETV’ runs a number of channels in different languages.

Shri Ramoji Rao played a crucial role in bringing Telugu film industry to Hyderabad. To that end, he established Ramoji Film City which is the largest film-production complex in the world. Now, even the Hollywood producers have also started shooting in the city.

He helped to raise the standard of political leadership when he advised the Telugu Desam Party in its initial stages to field educated persons with integrity for elections. Today the AP Assembly has the largest number of educated members in the country.

By his vision commitment and hard work, Shri Ramoji Rao has made significant contribution to the progress of the State in various fields. He has also inspired the younger generation by his example. He has thus upheld and reinforced the ideas for which the late Shri Yudhvir stood.

The trustees of Yudhvir Foundation have therefore great pleasure in acknowledging his manifold and outstanding achievements. They feel proud on conferring the Tenth Yudhvir Memorial Award on him and wish him many more years of good health and capacity for achieving better glories still for himself and for the State.
