Dr. Vijayveer Vidyalankar
for his work on the Rasa Siddhant and the Vedas by Hon’ble Shri K. Keshav Rao, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha)

Dr. Vijayveer Vidyalankar is one of the leading Sanskrit scholars of India.
He graduated from Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar and received his Ph.D in Hindi from Osmania University in 1976. He joined the Pandit Narendra Prachya Mahavidyala as a lecturer and retired as its principal in 2002.
Dr. Vidyalankar has supervised the translation of 12 Telugu books into Hindi. His writings include Vipanchika, Dakshin Mein Ram Katha, and Vedic Vichar.
Since 1992 he has contributed two daily features in the Daily Hindi Milap: one to explain one Vedic mantra, and the other a moment for reflection
His major work are the scholarly exposition of the Indian theory of aesthetics (Nava Rasas) in Ras Siddhanth Vivechan, the preparation of the index of the mantras of all the four Vedas in their original order, and the translation of the Yajur Veda from Sanskrit into Hindi verse.
Dr. Vidyalankar is the Founder Vice President of Dakshinanchaliya Sahitya Samiti. His awards include the Rashtriya Bhavatmak Ekta Award (2001) for his contribution in the field of Education, the Maharishi Dayanand Vaidik Jagran Award (2001) and Bhagwan Mahavir Vishwa Sadbhavana Award (2005). He was honoured for outstanding contribution to Vedic literature by the Gurukul Kangri University in 2009.
In acknowledgement of his work on the Nav Rasas, and the Vedas, the trustees of the Yudhvir Foundation have great pleasure in conferring the 25th annual Yudhvir Memorial Award on Dr. Vijayveer Vidyalankar. They also wish him many years of fruitful pursuit of scholarship.
