The Foundation:
The Yudhvir Foundation was established by Smt. Sita Yudhvir on 10th April 1991, to commemorate the life and work of late Shri Yudhvir. The primary aim of the Foundation is to propagate his ideals and to honour those who contribute to national integration, social service, culture, literature and service in fields of human endeavour.
The trustees of the foundation are – Aruna Bahuguna (Chairperson), Vinay Vir, Amer Ali Khan, Tarun Kumar Jhaver and Vipma Vir (Secretary).
The Award:
An annual award function is held on 30th April, the birthday of late Shri Yudhvir. The award consists of a citation & a cash amount of Rs.1,00,000/-.
An annual memorial lecture is delivered by the awardees at the Foundation event each year. Previous awardees include Former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, Shri B.P.R. Vithal, Dr. U.R. Rao, Smt. Manjari Sinha, Dr. Soma Raju, Dr. K. Anji Reddy, Shri Ramoji Rao, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, Pandit Jasraj, Prof Shantha Sinha, Saina Nehwal and Dr. Gullapali N Rao among others.
Memorial lectures have also been delivered by the chief guest at the event. These have included Shri I.K. Gujral, Shri Krishna Kant, Late Shri Khushwant Singh, Bilkees Latif and many more
Two Gold Medals:
In addition to the annual Foundation award and lecture, the ‘Yudhvir Gold Medal’ has also been instituted at the Osmania University for the best student of Master in Communication & Journalism. This medal has been awarded each year since 1992. The Foundation also awards a ‘Yudhvir Gold Medal’ to the best student at Mother Krishna Bai School of Nursing, Musheerabad, Hyderabad every year.

Aims & Objectives:
To establish an Endowment for the Institution of awards to promote excellence in the field of literature, education, journalism research and development and all or any other related fields.
To promote educational, cultural and physical activities amongst the students in general.
To undertake and/or assist in research on topics of literature, humanities, journalism, fine arts and allied or related subjects and in preparation and publication of research papers on any of the aforesaid subjects.
To create, provide or secure facilities for promoting research/study on any of the aforesaid subjects and to grant scholarships, assistance, grants and subsidies thereof.
To promote, and/or associate with, and/or aid organisations and persons working in educational, research and related fields for the purpose of any of the objects mentioned above.
To establish, maintain, run and develop or assist in establishing, maintenance, running and development of hostels, auditoria, libraries, reading rooms, recreational centres and other facilities for facilitating the achievement of any of the aforesaid subjects.
To promote, and/or assist in promotion of humanitarian, philanthropic, social welfare and/or any other activity which purports to secure or promote public health and welfare of humanity.
To do all things necessary for and incidental to the achievement of all or any of the objectives mentioned herein and those which the trustees may, at their discretion, decide in the future so far as they are not inconsistent with the objects aforesaid.
