About Trustees

Dr. Muralidhar Gupta is a leading surgeon from Hyderabad. He completed his MBBS and Masters in Surgery from Osmania University. He was awarded Best Outstanding Student and Outstanding Medical Teacher awards by Gandhi Medical College. Dr. Gupta was also granted a scholarship by the Rotary Foundation to study in the United States.

He has served as Asst. Professor of Surgery and Surgical Registrar in Osmania and Gandhi Medical Colleges; and as Professor of Surgery at Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada. He has been a Member of Medical Norms Committee, New Delhi; a Member of the Drug Procurement Committee of India; and the Director of Insurance Medical Services, Government of Andhra Pradesh overseeing medical services for over 30 lakh members.

Dr. Gupta is the President of the Agarwal Siksha Samiti, a body that sponsors 11 educational institutions with approximately 4000 students all the way from kindergarten to post graduation. He also holds memberships with the Indian Medical Association, Association of Surgeons of India and Association of Occupational Health.

Dr. Gupta is a recipient of the Chikitsa Ratan Award for his outstanding contribution towards the medical profession and in the service of society.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan is the Editor at Siasat Daily. He is also the founder member of the Andhra Pradesh Newspaper Association.

A graduate in the Bachelors of Arts at Osmania University, Mr. Khan has contributed greatly to many fields. A recipient of the Hindu Muslim Unity Award, Mr. Khan’s work has been widely appreciated beyond the boundaries of journalism.  He has received a Tourism Award for Excellence in 2001 and an Award of Excellence in Promotion of Urdu Language in 2013. His work for unity and peace also earned him a nomination in the World Peace and Prosperity Award in London.

Mr. Khan has been the Managing Trustee of the Abid Ali Khan Educational Trust, Chief Patron of the Minorities Development Forum, President of the Abid Ali Khan Arts and Crafts Promotion Society and the Idara-e-Adabiyat.

Mr. Khan has also toured widely with many Indian heads of States. His official tours include accompanying Indira Gandhi to Saudi Arabia and PV Narsimha Rao to Germany and the USA.

Mr. Pritam Singh is a founding trustee of the Yudhvir Foundation and has served more than 35 years in Indian insurance sector. Born in 1928 in Chilianwala of Punjab (now in Pakistan), he came to India during the Partition and made Hyderabad his home in 1953.

He first joined National Insurance Company (later called General Insurance Company) as a company officer, working in Hyderabad, Delhi and Lucknow. He retired from service in 1988 as the Regional Manager of General Insurance Company of Andhra Pradesh.

Vinay Vir is the son of late Shri Yudhvir and Smt. Seeta Yudhvir. Vinay completed his schooling at The Lawrance School, Lovedale in 1968. He studied his undergraduate in Journalism in Vadodara and Hyderabad, and then secured a Master’s in Journalism from Osmania University. Even as a student he helped his father in the running of their newspaper Daily Hindi Milap. An avid cricketer, Vinay also had a real passion for photography and spent several years as an ace photographer working for several advertising agencies.

Vinay took over Daily Hindi Milap in 1991, following the sudden demise of Shri Yudhvir. Since taking over the helm of operations, the newspaper has seen much success, primarily owing to the new technologies in printing and processing, and the efficiencies that Vinay has introduced.
